Pilgrimage Poems

Last August I co-led a Pilgrimage to ancient Celtic sites in Ireland and Wales with Russ Parker. If you would like to see some poems written in these ancient places, turn to the Poetry Page.

Dreaming of Home

Dreaming of Home Last year saw the publication of 'Dreaming of Home'.  For more details of this book follow this BRF link

'Problematic or pleasurable, the concept of 'Home' is deeply embedded in most of us. With typically disarming honesty and wisdom Michael explores this natural icon from personal and theological angles. A warm and welcoming book that will comfort, coax and challenge many, many readers.'  Adrian Plass

Have a look at Jonny Baker's blog for his thoughts on the book

Bishop Eric Pike from South Africa writes: It's an absolutely beautiful book and deeply personal as you reveal so much of your own life and journey home in Christ Jesus.I was deeply challenged and moved.I wept at the end of Reuben's story and was encouraged by what you wrote about our needing to reflect before God on what brings a lump in our throat, and tears to our eyes.'

Richard Williamson, of Epiphany music (see Epiphany website) has written,  After we chatted I downloaded a copy of your 'Dreaming of Home' book onto my Kindle and have just finished reading it. I thought it was really excellent - and very helpful for where I am at the moment. I felt there was great wisdom and compassion in the way you wrote, with some lovely touches of humour. I've been feeling rather unsettled in some ways recently and what you wrote, particularly in some of the earlier chapters, was just what I needed to hear. I also loved the story of Reuben which was a wonderful way of helping to see how the Lord's compassion and understanding of each of us can lead us to a place of healing and wholeness (and home!).
